PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Recently, my school has started the routine of reciting the Preamble to the Declaration of Independence in class. As a 4th grade teacher, I realized that my students probably don't understand what many of those big words they're reading really mean.

This Powerpoint presentation includes all of these vocabulary words and their definitions. It goes with a matching (Free) worksheet which can be found here.

Words included in this Powerpoint:
self-evident
endowed
unalienable
liberty
pursuit
secure
instituted
deriving
consent
governed

Once the words are defined and discussed, students can then rewrite the Preamble in their own words. This could be used for many different grade levels as a quick Social Studies lesson.
