(Math with Mrs. Vickmark)
This year, my Precalculus students really struggled with remembering the degree and Radian measures around the Unit Circle, as well as the trig. values at each of the angle measures. Even though I suggested that they make some flashcards because they NEEDED to memorize these values, kids tend not to take the initiative on their own. So, I decided to make the flashcards myself and force them to study.
DETAILS / MATERIALS NEEDED:
1) This document contains one set (10 pages) of flashcards which includes sine, cosine, and tangent values all the way around the Unit Circle. I printed one set of flashcards for every pair of students in my class, plus a couple extra in case kids wanted to check them out to study independently. I also used different colors for each set so that I could more easily separate them if they got mixed up.
2) When printing, set your printer up to print double-sided. The flashcards are designed so that the answers will appear directly on the back of the problem to be evaluated. No need to print one side at a time.
3) These cards are designed to help students memorize the trig. values for a given angle, but they can also be used to help students memorize the trig. function and angle used to get to the given value (use the other side of the cards)
My students spent 2-3 class periods with these flashcards, but (like I said) they were really having a hard time memorizing these values. They could even be used as a simple warm-up if that's all the time your students have/need.
