Predicting and drawing conclusions are closely related to inferencing and they can be very tricky skills. Working on all three skills helps students master the skill. Included are 16 cards that have students read and then predict and/or draw conclusions. They require students to think deeper and justify how they formed their conclusion. These cards work great during morning work, small group reading, peer tutoring, or in large group review. I have my class record answers in their reading interactive notebook. This provides them the opportunity to write detailed responses and gets them thinking on a higher level.
