This product is a reading lesson centered around the story "A Sick Day for Amos McGee." Students use sentences with pictures to make an initial prediction. During the reading of the text, students are able to revise their predictions before gluing down the final story sequence. A quick book review is included for after reading.
This is a great lesson to do while you are focusing on predicting. Stopping points are included, so this almost makes a perfect Sub Plan for reading! It's just print and go!
Welcome to A Real Reading Experience. I aim to give teachers the tools to provide authentic reading experiences with children through the love of picture books. Each picture book will have a focus, like inferring or characterization. The packet will come with pre-selected stopping points for teachers to stop and have students answer a question. At the end, there is a piece for students to complete a written reflection of the story. K-2 units and 3-5 units are on the way!
