Students will access prior knowledge to make predictions about the natural resources, jobs, clothing and tools used by Native Americans in different parts of North America. The regions include Arctic, Pacific Northwest Coast, Southwest, Great Plains, and Eastern Woodlands. An image of each location and climate clues are provided to get them started.
This connects to lessons on Natural, Human and Capital Resources, and provides a good introduction to lessons on tribes such as the Inuit, Kwakiutl, Lakota, Pueblo, and Iroquois.
The activity is aligned with Virginia SOL USI.3c but is relevant for use in any classroom.
