This prediction booklet aids students with ELA skills like predicting, note-taking, and plot summarizing. Students use the title page to write the title of the book and draw their own illustration. The following page allows students to summarize the plot's main mystery of the story once it has been introduced. Students write the mystery in their own words and draw an illustration. (Ensure students select the MAIN mystery so that they will be able to fill in the solution by the end.) The remaining pages act as a sort of "notebook" to record the clues and make additional predictions as they read. By the final page, students should put the solution to the mystery in their own words and illustrate accordingly. This made a great resource for my kindergarteners to accompany our class read aloud of "The Magic Treehouse" books by Mary Osborne, but could be easily adapted for other ages or books.
