This resource consists of words with common prefixes and their definitions. Students can play concentration or any other type of matching activity with this resource.
I liked to play a whole-group game where students each received one card and had to find their match (if they received a vocabulary word card they had to find the person with the matching definition card, and vice versa). Once they found their partner, they created a sentence using the word to share with the rest of the class. They would then switch cards and look for their new match, repeating the process.
After doing this activity whole-group, students played concentration with it at a learning center/workstation.
This resource includes 11 pages (33 sets of matching word/definition cards) to provide students with extensive practice using the most common prefixes (mis-, pre-, re-, dis-, in-, non-, un-, de-)
