Students will identify and know the meaning of the most common prefixes and derivational suffixes. Students will determine the meaning of the new word formed when a known prefix is added to a known word (e.g., happy/unhappy, tell/retell).
Students will flip a card. They will refer to the help sheet to find the proper affix or meaning that is needed. They will flip a second card. If the affix and meaning match, they keep the cards. If they do not, they flip them both in the face-down position.
