This is a prefix and suffix checkers gameboard with a cheat sheet attached for students who need the extra support. There are five prefixes and five suffixes covered:
Prefixes anti-, under-, non-, ex- and dis-
Suffixes -ment, -en, -ful, -ness and -en
My students love to play this game and it can be played many ways.
In my classroom I have my students tell their partner what the prefix or suffix means before they can move to the next square.
For my higher level kids I have them give a word that has that prefix or suffix and tell their partner the meaning of the full word.
I have also sent this with a note home as homework, and my parents and kids love playing this game together!
