Roll Six Double Dice is a fun way to learn prefixes and suffixes! In this fun game, students learn the meaning of prefixes and suffixes and how to read them. There are two versions for these games – beginner and advanced.
Beginner version: To play, a student rolls a die and goes to the corresponding column or row. The student then chooses a word, reads the word and tells the meaning of the prefix or suffix. The first student to get six chips in a row, either horizontally, vertically or diagonally wins the game.
Advanced version: To play, a student rolls two dice. Whatever numbers are rolled, the student goes to the corresponding column and row and reads that word. For example: if a student rolls a one and a three the student can go to row three, column one or row one, column three. The student can decide which works best. The first student to get six chips in a row, either horizontally, vertically or diagonally wins the game.
This is a very engaging and motivating game that can be played during group time, work stations, or free time.
