Are you looking for some practice on common prefixes and suffixes? This file offers five worksheets and one vocabulary/definition list to practice the prefixes: un, dis, re, non, pre, in, e, and ex and the suffixes: ful, less, er, ly and ness. The five worksheets are set up just like the preview page. Students will use the definitions of the prefixes to determine the definition of the word. They will cut out the words and definitions and glue them together correctly on another piece of paper. This provides use of prior knowledge, application of the prefix/suffix definition and a little hands on approach to memorizing the definitions of these prefixes and suffixes. At the end of the unit, you could give a quiz over the prefixes and suffixes and use the vocabulary list as a study guide.
