This is a student lesson using the principles of Orton Gillingham which includes a multisensory, sequential, cumulative approach.
Students will address reading, writing and structural analysis skill building using the prefix "sub-."
Students benefit from repeated exposures of the prefix "sub-."
The focus on both reading and writing skill building, using this prefix supports a deeper comprehension. Students learn to "break down" words using syllabication strategies. This strengthens decoding, which then supports students' abilities to read with improved fluency.
