Prefix Power: Practice prefix skills with “Prefix Power!” Students have the opportunity for whole class, small group and independent practice using the prefixes re-, un-, mis- and pre-. The activities are:
-“Flying” Four Corners: a whole class activity where students read definition cards and “fly” them to the correct prefix corner of the room.
-Sentence Sort: a small group activity or center in which students read sentence cards and decide which prefix best fits the underlined word. A recording sheet is provided to assess student work.
-Show Your Prefix Power!: an independent activity sheet where students choose a prefix and a base word to make a new word, then write that word in a sentence.
- I Have, Who Has?: a card game to practice identifying words with prefixes
