Product Description
This engaging activity puts a fun spin on learning prefixes! It also makes a creative bulletin board or school hallway display! It can even be used as a valuable addition to your students' interactive notebooks!

I split this activity into two days.
Day 1- students complete the Prefixes Worksheet. They read 18 sentences with 20 prefixes embedded within the sentences. They circle the prefixed words and write the meaning of each word on the line. When they finish, they turn it in for you to check the passages. (Therefore, this activity can even be used as an assessment!)

Day 2- students assemble the craftivity. They cut out paint palettes and paint puddles and glue them as directed. Then they write the prefixed words from the worksheet on the front of the paint puddle, and they write the meaning of the prefixed word inside the paint puddle.

This product includes detailed instructions (with photos) for your students to follow. It also includes a teacher instruction page that lists the exact materials you need to prepare for this craftivity.

Prefixes included are:
dis-
un-
pre-
mis-
re-

I choose to begin with these five prefixes because they account for 53% of all English prefixed words, according to Word Frequency Book (Carroll, Davies, Richman, 1971).
