I made this activity pack to correlate with the Level 2 - Unit 6 Fundations...it also of course can be used as a Language Arts activity and/or for Word Work. I needed my kiddos to practice with a variety of prefixes and suffixes. So I created two activities for each!
1) I made a "spin" activity for both prefixes and suffixes. Each worksheet has the kiddos spinning a prefix/suffix, selecting a base word...then writing the new word (front page), then on the back of the worksheet, I have added a second section where I asked the kiddos to select three of their created words to write in complete sentences (this page is not shown in the preview: but I have provided writing lines for these sentences), then a third section where the kids can select two other words they created and draw a picture that represents the meanings (again this page is not shown in the preview, but is under the writing portion...with two boxes for the pictures).
2) I have created a flipbook for both prefixes and suffixes. You can utilize these however you like. I like to have the kiddos write the meaning of the prefix/suffix, then list a couple examples of each.
There is a total of 8 pages (front/back spin for prefixes, front/back spin for suffixes, flipbook top/bottom pages for prefixes, and a flipbook with top/bottom pages for suffixes). Hopefully that makes sense.
- The prefixes I have included are: un-, dis-, miss-, pre-, trans-, non-
- The suffixes I have included are: -ful, -less, -ment, -ish, -ness, -able.
I just didn't want my creations to go to waste and thought I'd share. Hope you enjoy!
