In this simple activity, students first complete the front of the worksheet, where they will use their creativity to write a reaction someone may have when finding out she or their significant other is pregnant. I encourage students to think outside the box and use a variety of viewpoints. For example, a teenager who faces an unplanned pregnancy will obviously have a very different reaction than a couple in their thirties who has been trying to conceive for years.
Once they've written a detailed response, collect all of the worksheets and then redistribute them to the class. Work to ensure that each student has a different classmate's reaction. Students will now write a response to their friend's reaction. What advice or assistance can they give? Can they answer some of their friend's questions?
