This hands-on, edible project will have your students completely immersed and engaged in the processes that helped to preserve our prehistoric past! After reviewing the included fact sheet that highlights the processes involved in preserving items from our past, students will use common materials and follow a detailed story script to construct their very own excavation site. From there, students will act as archaeologists, taking samples from their site to discover the layers of artifacts and the story it can tell! A detailed reflection journal is included to check for overall understanding and application of prior learning.
The included reflection activity will allow students to explain their thinking and check for overall understanding of key concepts. Students will love this engaging activity and you will love how the concepts come to life and solidify students’ overall understanding of our past!
