This unit includes three pages of lesson plans to instruct students in writing a dinosaur research report, an inferring graphic organizer, five research graphic organizers, final draft paper, presenting cards, and a listening response sheet.
~Lesson Plans: The three pages of lesson plans are divided into three areas; using schema and expanding new learning, research and planning, and writing and communicating. The lesson plans also include pictures of anchor charts and activities and read aloud texts.
~What’s Inside the Egg?: This graphic organizer can be used as an introduction to dinosaurs.
~Research Graphic Organizers: They are five separate graphic organizers students can use to gather their research information; description, habitat, diet, predators, and fossils.
~Final Draft Writing Template: There is space at the top for students to draw and label their picture and enough lines to support a paragraph.
~Presentation Cards: Six cards are available for students to gather and record their facts that they would like to use in their presentation.
~Listening Response Sheet: As students listen to other presenters they can record information they learned. There is given space for up to four speakers.
