This set of engaging and hands on activities was designed to immerse students in our prehistoric past! Aligned to the new Learning Standards in Social Studies, students will identify 14 key terms, engage in over 10 different vocabulary practice activities, construct an “edible” excavation site, create a timeline of the 6 major prehistoric Native American groups (Paleo Indians, Archaic, Adena, Woodlands, Hopewell, Fort Anciet) sort prehistoric artifacts according to a detailed characteristic resource, bring this time period to life with a whole class Reader’s Theater script, and be assessed on a comprehensive test! This prehistoric bundle would supplement an existing topic of study or could be used as a stand alone, 2 week unit covering the standards! Included in this bundle is the following:
