This hands-on game practices making groups of ten and understanding that the ten-train then must be moved to the tens place. Two versions of the game are presented to help differentiate. Math Talk cards (sentence frames) are included so students internalize by saying "I have __ tens and __ ones so I have ___." An extra mat with hundreds was also added to extend this game for older students.
Materials needed: dice, unifix cubes or base ten blocks.
