Writing with a Reader in Mind: Everything Says Something is an effective tool for guiding students' thinking about what they read and, in turn, about what they write.
This introductory packet (lesson directions, printable, and poster) empowers teachers to begin to efficiently help students analyze what they read and write in order to produce quality writing. Simple discussion questions help students discover how authors make decisions to influence our thinking about characters, problems, or topics. Then they can apply these techniques to their own writing. Student resources (poster and printable) are also available in Spanish.
