Hello! Thank you for looking at Preparing Your High School Students to Attend Their IEP Meetings.
I created a two page worksheet for my High School students to help them present a short 'insight' about their learning when attending annual IEP meetings.
I am a speech pathologist who sat in on many meetings where students in grades 9-12 would attend. When the student was asked if he/she had anything to add, they would look out with sort of a blank stare and say 'no'... when I knew better. These kids have something to say! It is important that they express it and advocate!
Which brought me to create this questionnaire that they can either bring to their meetings or use to organize a brief paragraph about how they learn best.
Hope this will help you and your students prepare for upcoming meetings!
******* The document is 4 pages - The worksheet is 2 in color and the same in black and white. I did it in color to help my students with the presentation and to keep organized.
My students did phenomenally well with the guideline last year!
