Scoot is a popular game played in many elementary school classrooms. Easily adapted to any content area and grade level, Scoot makes for a welcome change from just completing a worksheet for skill practice. The skill practiced in this set of Scoot cards is identifying a set of words as being a prepositional phrase(s) or a dependent clause. The words BEFORE, UNTIL, or AFTER can be either a preposition or a subordinating conjunction. Students must look beyond just these initial words to determine the function of the entire group.
These 24 Scoot cards may also be used as task cards in a literacy center or for a Scatter/Scavenger Hunt activity. Print them in grayscale and use them as an exit ticket or in an interactive notebook. Task cards are extremely versatile!
