Product Description
This lesson plan is designed to help students understand the connection between grammar and an author's intention. Students identify and analyze prepositional phrases in an excerpt from Joseph Conrad's _Heart of Darkness_. Whether students are reading this novel, studying grammar and syntax in terms of their own writing, or simply working on their analytical thinking skills, they will benefit from this activity. I provide tips for teaching how to identify a prepositional phrase, as well as a structured lesson plan (with a ready-made objective!), a handout, and a key that could be made into an overhead transparency.
