I created and illustrated this adapted book of prepositions to help my young students better understand prepositions and directional concepts (e.g., up/down).
The prepositions introduced in the book include:
-in front of
Each page asks the students “Where is the monkey?” and provides a sentence frame “The monkey is ______ the tree.” Laminate and cut out the prepositions and add a little Velcro to turn this into an interactive book! Check for the students’ understanding by removing the prepositions and have the students fill in the blanks.
This download also includes a printable of the tree and three monkeys (check it out in the preview!). Laminate and add magnets to make it a fun wall or cookie sheet activity by having students move the monkeys around and describing its location.
Included are also 2 worksheets (check them out in the preview) with pictures from the book for students to practice using the prepositions and writing sentences. (Could also be assigned as homework!)
Hope you and your students have lots of fun with the book ☺
All images from this download were all digitally drawn by me. Your feedback will be greatly appreciated!
