With a prepositions scavenger hunt, or Classroom Quest, your room will light up with excitement as students learn! Classroom Quests, or scavenger hunts, are amazing ways to get your kids up moving around the classroom and working collaboratively. Learning prepositions has never been more fun! In this particular Classroom Quest students will get excited about recognizing and practicing prepositions and prepositional phrases!
Although these cards can have many great uses in your classroom, the Classroom Quest will surely be a favorite. To have a Classroom Quest, you will need to hide 10 preposition cards around your classroom using the preposition as a guide (i.e. you might hide the preposition “UNDER,” under a book). As you hide the cards, use the included sheet to jot down where you hid each card! When the students arrive and you are ready to begin, have the students work in groups to find the 10 cards. As they find each card, students should use the Prepositions Classroom Quest recording sheet to record each preposition and write a sentence using that preposition.
Classroom Quest cards are also great to be used in centers, as posters, for early finishers, for small or large group instruction, or for formative or summative assessment. Classroom Quests are sure to become an exciting activity in your classroom!
