This is a group activity for your preschool classroom to use in the month of February. One of my favorite classic children’s books to use with this activity is "Guess How Much I love You" by Sam McBratney. The possibilities are limitless when you begin to consider the many connecting activities you can do with this beautiful story of love.
This activity is a great discussion starter for your group time. I originally used two old heart-shaped chocolate boxes for the game. Later, when they started falling apart, I found some cute little heart-shaped boxes in the Target Dollar Spot to use for the activity.
Each day a different child will get to take the heart-shaped box home and fill it with the item of their choosing. Their caregivers will help them write three clues about what is in the box. At school, the class will try to guess what is in the box! This activity provides excellent opportunities to work on math, science, literacy, and language concepts. There are several suggestions in the lesson plan for how you can adapt the activity to meet the vast needs of your preschoolers.
Hope you have as much fun with it as my preschooler did! Check out my youtube video for more information about how to use this product.
