These materials use a cute monster theme to teach verbal reasoning skills through comparing and contrasting to find the best answer.
This product includes a printable book that allows students to check their own answers.
Page 4: Cover for book & page 1 of the interactive book
Page 5 – 12: 15 pages for the interactive book
Page 13 – 14: Interactive question cards
Cut apart pages 4 – 12 cutting around the black line frames to make two book pages.
Place Velcro dots, or other adhesive of your choice, to cover the circles inside the squares on pages 4 - 12.
Assemble the book by connecting the pages with a snap ring in the top left corner.
From pages 13 - 14, cut out each square question card. Place a Velcro dot in the center of the back side of each card.
The cards may be stored on the interactive book pages.
1. Before presenting the book to the students, place the question cards on the book pages.
2. Present a page in the book, read the statement, and ask the question.
3. The students should touch/show the monster that best answers the question. Students may lift/remove the card to check to see
if they answered correctly.
Students should answer ‘why’ they chose the monster they selected.
Discuss the student’s answer and why it is or is not correct.
