In this activity, students are "quizzed" on how much they know about present day immigration. I usually do this 25 question quiz at the start of a citizenship unit in my participation in government class. Students go into the unit having preconceived notions about immigration in the U.S. When they take the quiz, and find out the answers afterwards they are usually stunned by how much they don't know. This quiz poses questions about undocumented immigrants, percentage of foreign born populations, refugees, immigration policy, etc. Because immigration was such a hot topic in the 2016 U.S. election, my students really enjoy this activity, and find it to be very engaging! The answer key is provided!
