Recycling, Conservation, and Pollution are concepts students need to know! Make sure that your students are able to tell the difference between some of the key terms and vocabulary involved in this important topic. This would be a perfect assessment or interactive notebook activity after teaching about Preserving Ecosystems, Recycling, & Pollution. This activity meets Georgia's Standards for Science in third grade but are general vocabulary words. They could be used in classrooms in other states as well with no problem. Students are asked to cut out each sentence or picture and match it with the following words:
litter, ecotourism, pollutant, pollution, hazardous waste, biodegradable material, decomposer, compost
They then glue under the correct heading on the included sheet OR paste into a science interactive journal. An answer key is included for easy grading.
