Presidency of John Adams Complete Google Lesson: Slides & Classroom Activity
This is a great activity that I use in order to develop a general understanding of who John Adams was a president as well as some of the major events that occurred during his time in office. It is a self-paced activity where students step through a Google Slideshow while completing questions and interactive application opportunities within their own Google doc.
Included in the slideshow are videos, thought provoking questions, vocabulary, a political cartoon and other engaging ways to include information about his presidency. The student doc was created from a slide by slide approach. Each slide has students completing some type of activity ranging from cloze notes to a variety of text-based questions.
If students complete the activity early (or for homework) there is an extension activity where students are asked to create a ‘wanted’ poster based on the Alien and Sedition Acts. An exemplar for this activity is provided to share with students.
This activity is meant to be a one day lesson and is introductory in nature. If you run out of time you could always assign the rest for homework.
This resource is plug and play! You can easily share it with your class through Google Classroom which works great in a 1:1 classroom setting. Getting started is a breeze with the teacher notes included with this purchase.
Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions about the lesson!
