This is an activity for students to help them remember the presidents and important facts about each person.
For this set the students are required to do research and write important facts on the back of the card.
1. Students will have to color the presidents (color pencils work best)
2. Add the years the president were in office.
3. Write a few important facts about each president.
4. Cut out each card
5. Fold and paste each card to make a set.
Have students sit in small groups after the set is complete.
Place cards on a table with President's faces up.
Students touches one card then has to names the president. (option: name and year.) If he/she is wrong the card goes in the dead pile. If he/she is correct they or their team keeps the card.
Students can also play a game of "Guess Who I Am" Small group or pair off students
Have one team pick a card from the deck... he/she reads important information off the back of the card (insuring that the other student can't see the president picture on the front.)
Then the other student has to guess the name of each president.(options the number)
student 1: Who is the first black president of the United States?
student 2: It is Benjamin Harrison. (23rd president)
If he/she is wrong the card goes to the dead pile. Winning team or person has the most cards at the end of the game.
Other things you can do with these cards are make posters or a book.
How you use these cards are up to you...
I have made my own set and have students work with this copy..
