Students read and analyze a selection of President Reagan's speeches in groups of 3 or 4. Each group chooses 1 of 12 of President Reagan's speeches, reads it, and summarizes it. Each student then comes up with one question they would have asked President Reagan had they been a reporter in the room when he gave the speech. The rest of the activity is outlined in the handout. This is likely a two or three day activity (one day to read and summarize and one or two days to do the group exchanges and presentations). The rubric is included, but the points values are left blank to allow for your own grading system. The handout also includes the link to the Reagan Presidential library website where the speeches can be found and the list of 12 speeches.
