Wanting your students to watch an upcoming presidential debate? Use this activity to help them break down what was said and how it was communicated. Using this form, students first source the debate and then critique performance over the span of four major topics or issues brought forth. Providing closure, students select a winner and provide reasoning to support their assessment. Using this activity can help set up a very successful discussion of both the debate and the candidates in class.
Want students to do more with analyzing the candidates or the media? Check out these two activities: Citizens Awareness Project-A Current Events Portfolio
and Dissecting the News-A Media Literacy Project
