Step into the shoes of one of the most controversial presidents, Andrew Jackson!
Students will read a short and simple summary of the events leading up to the Indian Removal Policy and Trail of Tears.
Several questions follow requiring students to think deeply about the issue. They get an opportunity to compare what they would do with what Jackson actually did.
A couple follow-up questions include issues that Native Americans are facing today, including the Dakota pipeline.
