In this fun activity, students are given puzzle pieces of famous presidents as they enter class on the first day of school. Once prompted, students lurk around the room to find others to complete their puzzle! This a great way to create groups and to "break the ice" with students. Once groups are formed, students become an "expert" on someone else in their group. They will tell the class the student's name, the highlight of their summer, and their favorite flavor of ice cream (of course, you can substitute anything you want them to discuss).
This activity is set for a class of 30 students. If you have more than 30 students, you can easily make more pieces by cutting larger pieces down!
Also - enjoy this activity year round! This can be used anytime groups are needed!
