This activity is a fun way to get your students learning about past U.S. presidents in your history class, civics class, or even in an ELA class.
Not only does this require thinking outside of the box, it also requires your students to obtain biographical and historical information on the presidents to complete the activity. The main thing I was wanting was an activity to promote a higher level of thinking. Students are required to "think" like the President might have thought. I think this activity could call on level 4- synthesis on the Bloom's q-chart. "What would (insert president name) say?"
One of the great things about this activity is it can be used for a variety of grade and ability levels. This was created with ESL students in mind but the more I thought about the assignment I realized how it could be applied to so many different grade levels, classes, etc.
