PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This Presidents Day Set has a little bit of everything!

This set contains 3 fact mini books.

One mini book on George Washington.
One mini book on Abraham Lincoln.
One mini book on Barack Obama.

The mini books are one page and can be folded into an 8 page booklet. (Directions for folding are included.)

The set includes a mapping activity, Venn Diagrams comparing the 3 different presidents, and several recommendations for informational books on these 3 presidents. It also includes an opinion writing activity, a game to practice reading multisyllabic words, a graphing activity, and a game to practice common and proper nouns.

These mini books and activities support these Common Core Standards:

CCSS.ELA-Literacy.RI.2.1 Ask and answer such questions as who, what, where, when, why, and how to demonstrate understanding of key details in a text.

CCSS.ELA-Literacy.RI.2.9 Compare and contrast the most important points presented by two texts on the same topic.

CCSS.ELA-Literacy.W.2.1 Write opinion pieces in which they introduce the topic or book they are writing about, state an opinion, supply reasons that support the opinion, use linking words (e.g., because, and, also) to connect opinion and reasons, and provide a concluding statement or section.

CCSS.ELA-Literacy.RF.2.3c Decode regularly spelled two-syllable words with long vowels.

CCSS.ELA-Literacy.RF.3.3c Decode multisyllable words.

CCSS.ELA-Literacy.L.1.2a Capitalize dates and names of people.

CCSS.ELA-Literacy.L.2.2a Capitalize holidays, product names, and geographic names.

CCSS.ELA-Literacy.L.3.2a Capitalize appropriate words in titles.

CCSS.Math.Content.2.MD.D.10 Draw a picture graph and a bar graph (with single-unit scale) to represent a data set with up to four categories. Solve simple put-together, take-apart, and compare problems1 using information presented in a bar graph.
