Use these Presidents’ Day themed writing pages with your beginning writers. These pages allow artistic expression as well as written expression. I have found that my not-so-enthusiastic writers love them because it gives them a way to express complete ideas without getting too frustrated because I am asking them to “write too much.”
This file includes 3 writing pages: one for George Washington, one for Abraham Lincoln, and one for Betsy Ross. Students can write about how much George Washington loved to ride his horse or that he lived in Virginia. Students will write that Abraham Lincoln kept important papers in his hat and students can draw Mr. Lincoln's face on the penny. I cannot wait to see what my students think are Betsy Ross' favorite things to do!
I hope you enjoy!
