This lesson includes background information on Presidents’ day, step-by-step procedures for completing the lesson, information literacy and technology literacy learning standards, curriculum standards, and a grading rubric. This document is saved as a Rich Text Format (.rtf) so that is can be edited using any type of computer. The document can be opened and printed to allow the students to work directly on the paper or the template can be used in a digital format by inserting textboxes anywhere your students need to type. This is a very successful lesson because it is interactive and provides an authentic audience so students do their best on the project. All biography posters can be printed and hung in the hallways for others to see and learn from. Having an authentic audience encourages students to do their best work because writing becomes public and it ceases to be just another assignment they hand in to the teacher.
