Product Description
This is the perfect resource full of ELA activities, phonics practice, adorable crafts, bulletin board ideas and more for President's Day.

Did you realize that Presidents’ Day was originally established in 1885 in recognition of President George Washington? Interestingly, it is still officially called “Washington’s Birthday” by the federal government. I had no idea until I started working on this resource for you. I think this is something we should share with our students!

We decided to have a birthday party for George Washington and it was a huge hit with my students. You can see it in action in my classroom by reading through my blog post here: Happy Birthday George Washington - President's Day Fun!

This is the perfect resource for lower grade teachers to use to celebrate President's Day. This packet includes hard g/soft g phonics practice as well as writing practice. Students can learn while having fun!

I hope your class loves these activities as much as mine did. I can think of no better way to get students excited about history then by having a celebration to honor our first president. Of course you can just complete the activities as is. However, we actually had a small birthday party including cupcakes, juice boxes and a birthday song. This made it extra memorable for the kids. My students really love any sort of craft and had a blast creating the hats. They received a lot of attention when they marched to lunch wearing those. Our hallway display came out so cute too.
