You can use this to introduce and discuss President’s Day. This has many
different skills in one lesson.
Page 1: Your student will find the difference of a President’s birth
year from their year of death. There will be regrouping and some will
not involve regrouping. They will record the president’s age at death.
Page 2: Your student will take the information (birth year) found
on page one to put the ten presidents in order according to their age.
They will need to place these numbers on a number line according to
birth years – oldest president will be the smallest year. This will involve
place value. Also on page two, your students will need to find the
picture of the president (found on page 3) and cut and paste onto
timeline as well.
Page 3: Creative Writing: Your student will need to write a
paragraph explaining “What they would do as a President”……
