Who was Abraham Lincoln?
His Childhood
Where Did He Live?
What Did He Do as President?
His Family
Interesting Facts (ex: he still remains one of the tallest presidents in U.S. history, he held important papers in his hat, he was very poor as a child, he is on the penny, he lived in a cabin with dirt floors as a boy)

In this 153 page packet, I've included:

Part 1: Posters to hang in your classroom and to use while introducing George Washington and Abraham Lincoln(real life photographs along with important vocabulary).

Part 2: All About George Washington and All About Abraham Lincoln (there are separate article pages about each president): These article pages were designed as a way for you to "hook" your students at the beginning of your presidents of the past unit. You can display the article pages on your document camera as a whole group or print and display during small group instruction.

Part 3: Differentiated All About George Washington and Abraham Lincoln Mini-Books (there are separate books about each president) - These are differentiated mini-books that can be used during small group instruction. There are three versions. Each version is slightly easier than the last. I wanted to give you options because I know that many of our students come in reading at different ability levels. It is up to you to pick and choose which articles you use with your groups. You can either print in color and laminate or print them in grayscale. Text-Dependent Response sheets follow!

Real life photographs will enhance your students understanding of George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. I've also provided sheets for students to write a summary.

Part 4: True/False Activity (separate ones for each president): After learning facts about both presidents, students will sort the sentences according to whether they are true or false. I've also provided a cut/paste sheet too that requires students to read simple sentences and glue them in the correct column.

Part 5: Graphic Organizers Galore - These graphic organizers, vocabulary books, and independent practice sheets can be used however you wish! I tried to offer you many different options to help meet the needs of your diverse group.

In addition, I've also included links to some fabulous web resources and books!
