Product Description
Preterit vs. imperfect is a difficult concept for many students! This introduction uses a children's story called "El Rey Mocho." (You can find online copies of the story by doing a simple Google search.)

Before introducing the preterit vs. the imperfect, students read the story and complete a reading guide with several activities, including:
-Making predictions based on the story's pictures
-Identifying cognates
-Using context to define key terms
-Summarizing the plot
-Completing analysis questions
-Using story examples to induce the uses of the preterit and the imperfect.

There is also a quiz attached!

Note: It is assumed that students are already familiar with the formation of the preterit and the imperfect to complete these activities.
