Preterite of Irregular Verbs
After mastering the regular preterite tense, it’s time to move on to those ever present irregular forms. Using this editable
PowerPoint, will help them see some of the patterns of irregular verbs in the preterite. Seeing and using these patterns will help students move to mastering the irregular forms of the preterite
forms. This PowerPoint is 82 slide long. It is divided 4 sections. Each section explores a particular group of irregular verbs in the preterite (just plain irregular, special stem with special endings, stem-changing verbs, and orthographic changes). There is opportunity for students to discuss options, compare and contrast, and practice using the preterite
In order to accommodate differences in curriculum, standards, and classroom needs, this PowerPoint, as well as my other PowerPoints is editable
. This will give you the ability to modify the text
to suit your style and needs of your students. However, please be careful when making changes to the text
to avoid altering or removing the animation. I use animation and triggers to present the material in steps or small chunk as well as present self-checking practice. This PowerPoint also includes editable
guided notes to help students organize their note-taking process. The guided notes provide students a place to respond in writing along with class participation to the practice activities. Like the PowerPoint, the guided notes are editable and may use all or part of it.
Since teacher prep time can be so time-consuming among the many other tasks they must complete, my goal in all my products is to provide high-quality products
at a reasonable price to help ease the time, stress, and pressure involved in lesson preparation.
