Your students won’t even realize that they are practicing the preterite and imperfect as they work together on this fun group project. Students are asked to work with a group to research a legend from the Spanish-speaking world, write it in their own words using the preterite and imperfect tenses, and tell it to the class using pictures and images to help enhance their presentation. Make sure to click "Preview" above to see more!
With your download, you will receive detailed instructions to give to your students to walk them through each step of the project. You will also receive a rubric for students to allow them to see how their grade will be determined. Finally, you will receive a grading rubric for yourself to quickly yet effectively and fairly grade each student. Each of these documents is in English in both PDF and Word and can be edited so that you can change the directions and/or rubrics to better fit you and your students if needed.
I use this project with Spanish II students as they are learning the difference between the preterite and imperfect tenses; however, it would definitely work with higher levels as well. My students love doing this project! I always enjoy watching them learn from each other as they discover La Llorona, El Cuco, and much more!
Feel free to message me if you have any questions about executing this project with your students. I will be glad to help. ¡Buena suerte!
