Do your students get stuck about what to write? These 5 pages, with 2 versions of each, can be used to end their writer's block and have countless ideas to write personal narratives. 3-hole punch the sheets to put into a Writer's Binder or glue them into a Writer's Notebook. Set them in a literacy center with an example and have students create them over time. I also used smaller copies of them to add to our anchor charts to remind students of how to use these pages!
I've included two versions to better fit your needs. One page is typically more open, while the other is more scaffolded to better fit different age groups and needs.
The pages include:
People and Events List: generate a list of people and special events
Things I Love Map: draw and write a web of foods, people, places, objects, etc. that you love
Wise Owl Page: generate a list of things you know a lot about or excel at
Treasure Map: sketch a favorite location and mark spots where important/memorable events happened there (goes great with the memoir Marshfield Dreams)
Memory Hand: match past moments to different emotions
I hope you can find these helpful!
