Vocabulary puzzle based on the movie set during the time of the UK Miners' Strike.
Although students see this as a fun activity, it is an active learning task. It helps students with the difficult vocabulary, in terms of both spelling and meaning. Use this to pre-teach or check comprehension of key words, with early finishers, as an assignment or homework, or in class on a day when you have nothing else prepared. It's great to fill a gap!
There are 35 words/clues in the puzzle. The words are abuse, activist, alliance, benefit, bingo, coal, diagnosis, drag, dyke, epidemic, estranged, flamboyant, gay, harassment, homophobia, homosexual, intolerance, lesbian, miner, pervert, pit, prejudice, pride, propaganda, protest, rejection, rights, strike, support, tabloid, vandalism, vegan, vegetarian, village, and virus.

A word bank is supplied to support students. You could make the puzzle a lot more challenging by redacting this.
The solution is included.
