Students are asked to analyze major characters, conflicts, quotes, and plot points from a section of Volume 1 of Pride and Prejudice. This is a group activity that will typically take students 2 class periods to complete. The quotations for analysis for each chapter are provided, but students must complete their own in-depth analysis of provided quotes. This project is complete when students compile their notes over each section onto a giant poster. The poster remains in the classroom for the remainder of the novel study (Volumes 2 and 3) as a reference.
Chapters are grouped according to the size of your classroom. 5 groups are provided for a larger class, and 4 for a smaller class.
Created for AP Literature students, but could be used in lower-level classrooms.
