Introduce students to the unique coverings on animals, the different kinds of frog feet, how coloring can help an animal hide from or warn predators, and systems in a frog's body.
Students will interact with a model of animal coverings, act out webbed feet, hide a frog in the classroom "habitat", and make a frog anatomy booklet.
This unit includes LOTS of resources. Any text a student might read has been translated into Spanish. There are three different essays that have been saved at three reading levels in English and two in Spanish. All are recorded for students who benefit from hearing the text.
Choose from four different kinds of assessment: quick, pencil-and-paper, something for a struggling student, and a suggestion for a capable student.
A video overview of the lessons has been included with your materials to make it easy to get started teaching science.
This unit can be used to meet the Next Generation Science Standard 1-LS 1-1.
